About Us

Get Found Get Funded takes pride in featuring companies led by entrepreneurs that are generally under-represented in the startup space.  Although Get Found Get Funded is supportive of *all* entrepreneurs, we feature those on the show that are eligible for Angel and VC funding.  We understand this is a small subset of entrepreneurs; however, our focus is on changing the startup space to be more inclusive for all and we are starting by shining a light on this particular space.


For example, while data shows that women’s entrepreneurship is on the rise, women still face disproportionate challenges gaining access to capital and other resources that businesses need to thrive. On average, women start their businesses with half the capital of men.


According to Project Diane, women of color face even greater barriers. Of 10,284 venture deals funded from 2012-2014, just 24 involved startups led by black women—about 0.2 percent.


One study showed just 13% of all startups receiving VC funding have any person of color as a founder.


With regard to the LGBTQ community, while there is little data, a recent study found that over one-third of founders who identify as LGBT do not come out to their investors.


In short, there is a huge need for support and resources for these underrepresented groups.  Getting funding is difficult enough for a startup, and these factors can make it even more difficult to succeed.

Our Mission

Get Found Get Funded works to mobilize and close the diversity gap in funding and resources for startups and businesses by providing advice and insight on how to raise the capital they need to help grow and scale their businesses, while creating more exposure for their brand and providing connections to resources and mentorship.

Xina Eiland

Xina Eiland, President and CEO of X+PR, is a visionary leader and recognized authority in multicultural communications and digital media. Xina brings a wealth of experience to clients, helping them effectively connect with diverse and hard to reach populations. Her dedication and tenacity, complemented by energy and drive, have earned her a well-deserved reputation as an innovator who gets the best results.

Xina is also the Co-Founder of Black Female Founders, an organization that serves as a convener to provide conversations and solutions for Black female founders. Because of her work in the tech and startup space, she is also a board member of BEACON, a Washington, D.C. initiative to make D.C. the number one ecosystem for women entrepreneurs.

As an expert on brand engagement, Xina’s company has achieved great success in all areas of the public relations arena. X+PR has worked with numerous and diverse clients such as Digital DC, a national marketing campaign and economic initiative to increase the visibility of Washington, D.C. as a leading community in the innovation and high-tech economy; Ford Motor Company Fund, a nonprofit arm of Ford that creates community outreach service programs; and Booz Allen Hamilton, a management and technology company.


Aurelia Flores

Aurelia Flores, Managing Member of the Athena Digital Media Group, focuses her business endeavors on supporting small businesses, especially startups and tech entrepreneurs.  She has been in the digital marketing field for nearly 10 years.  She also practiced law – intellectual property and corporate business law – for nearly 20 years after graduating from Stanford Law School in the mid-90’s. Aurelia has experience building and supporting businesses – both from the legal and non-legal sides – in formation, launching and getting to profitability.  She has assisted businesses in putting together strategic partnerships, structuring and writing business plans/models, obtaining SBA and angel/VC funding, as well as working on M&A activity when they’re ready to grow or exit.

Aurelia assists her clients in getting in front of their ideal audience and conveying a compelling message — the key to all business growth and success.  She regularly writes and speaks on the power of digital marketing. Aurelia was a featured speaker at the Legal Digital Innovator conference at Howard University, during DC Startup Week and has been a Guest Expert for the show Smart Money produced by Women@Forbes.  Aurelia is a Member of the Pipeline Angels network of women and non-binary femme investors.  She serves as a judge for pitches for TechStars, and as a mentor for new angel investors.


Kristina Francis

Business leader, visionary, and angel investor, Kristina Francis believes that people, initiatives, and businesses have a better opportunity to succeed through strategic planning, strong partnerships, and the connection to capital. Launched in 2017, Kristina’s company EsteemLogic provides a hybrid apprenticeship and employment approach aimed to remove the impediments to success that often impact a large pool of untapped talent; resulting in a workforce ready to consult and deliver in-demand information technology solutions. Prior to launching EsteemLogic, Kristina served as Director of Systems Development and Cyber for a global management consulting firm. In this role she focused on strategic planning, business development, contract teaming; and led technical execution teams. Kristina developed innovative and collaborative business systems and cyber security opportunities, and directly managed a $50M+ Information Technology portfolio. Kristina received her BA from Georgetown University in Psychology and MS from George Washington University in Information Systems Management. Kristina is passionate about education, equity, empowerment, and innovation. She serves as an advisory board member for a Community Development Financial Institute, is a member of Pipeline Angels, and serves as a strategy and business mentor to many entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in the technology field. Kristina enjoys experiencing life with her husband and cheering on her ten-year-old daughter and nine-year-old son in everything they do!
